BLOG by Kevin

Hey everyone! If trina hasn't told you already then I can tell you because now the whole world knows. So much for that secret thing that we're supposed to have eh? As we speak, personnel are off loading food and water to the people of Bangladesh. I'm not getting off ship. But other people have already. And it looks like the CO of the ship istrying to get everyone on the Tarawa the Humanitarian Service Medal. Our departments have already submitted rosters and what not. So I'll have at least a star on my Overseas Service Deployment ribbon and a new medal when I come back.

And it looks like I might be doing this again a year after I get back unless I'm doing the recruiting thing. We'll see what happens. I don't want to come back to the states and turn around a couple months later to deploy to Iraq. I've been there. And 2 months at home only isn't enough of a reason to go back. The fact is: I loveTrina. And I'd like to spend as much time with her as possible. Our goodbyes prior to me going onto the ship were heartbreaking enough. Imagine getting off the ship just to tell her I'm going to deploy in a couple months. Once I get back though, I'm going to try and look into recruiting. Or maybe try being a career retention specialist. Like I said, we'll see what happens. I'm looking out for the best interests of me and Trina. I know she wants me home. I know I want to be home with her.

Other than that, it looks like we're going to have some liberty for a few days in Singapore. Really looking forward to getting off ship because I'm kinda starting to go stir-crazy. Hehe. I'm going to go with Wood (Trina knows who he is) and we're going to go see the sights. They plan on drinking that night, but I think I'm going to go back to the ship. Never really was much of a drinker.

I've started up my gym routine. And due to all the hot spots around the ship., I've been sweating a lot. It also means I've been burning fat! I've really started to slim down some, which is good. Trina was worried that I would get fat and have a heart attack or something. Hehe. I'll probably be looking real good when I come back. (winking in Trina's direction). That's all I can think of so that's all the blogging for now. I'll blog more as soon as I can.

Kevin...you are funny dude! Like I said before, I feel like I'm intruding on something when I read you're blog. Yet here I am again... snooping around and giggling to myself the whole time! I can definitely understand about missing Trina. Derek was only gone for a month and it felt like eternity. I know he would rather be in the military than sitting at a desk doing accounting, but he realized like you have, that family is the most important. It's hard because it seems that the military requires you to put family second. Obvious, but still crappy. You know, I think that when you get back you need to start making babies and take it from there. :) And, hopefully you won't have to turn right back around.

p.s. that's sweet about getting in shape! Enjoy the sights for me! :)

Hey, stay out of any bar in Singapore! There is just one goal of anyone that you meet there: To separate you from your money!

Find the good restaurants though! For sure!

Kevin...that is really cool that you are able to see Singapore! That is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Be safe and know that you are thought about daily.

Hi Kevin
Glad to see your getting a chance to see the world. There's a lot of interesting sights out there. Know that I've been thinking about what you asked me and as much as I wish I could do it, right now it's impossible for me to get any time off. Sure would have been an expirience though. Thanks for the offer, the next time for sure, dude!

I hope to come out there one day to see you & Trina, maybe on my mototrcycle. Hehehehe

Take care and have fun.
